ffr-facebook.gifA change of tack this week for our Facebook app roundup. Instead of picking random new apps, I’m going to focus on a specific area every week.

First up is gaming, which is already a healthy area for Facebook, whether in retro arcade classics that you can play on your profile, through to newer ideas based around Facebook’s intrinsic connectivity

Read on for this week’s five. And if you’ve got any thoughts on what apps / categories you’d like to see covered next week, post a comment!

1. FFR Games. Otherwise known as Flash Flash Revolution, an online version of Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution rhythm game. Not quite as much fun as leaping about like an idiot on a dance mat, but still cool. GET IT

2. Capture The Flag. Facebook-wide version of the popular ‘run around shouting until someone who understands what’s going on steals the flag and you all go to the pub’ sport. Nick flags from your friends, and hang onto them for a couple of hours to score points. GET IT

3. Retro Arcade. This nifty app lets you design your own arcade and fill it with classics – Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Tetris and so on. GET IT

4. Bogglific. Based on the letter-dice game Boggle, this gets you to make as many words as possible from a 4×4 grid of latters. 2-8 players can compete in real-time, made up of your friends if you invite them, or random strangers. GET IT

5. Guitar Hero Tracker. Everyone loves to boast, especially if it’s about their proficiency on guitar-based cock rock console games. This app lets you display your Guitar Hero stats to the world. GET IT
