Something you will either love or hate from Sony – the circular VAIO VGX-TP1 home entertainment centre for TV or PC.

It’s the latest attempt to get the PC into the living room. And if you are not keen, you stick it back into the office – at 27cm across, it is fairly easy to carry about. But it does pack in an interesting array of technology – HDMI, VGA and DVI outputs, concealed cables and connectors, 500GB hard disk, integrated hybrid TV tuner, wireless networking, wireless keyboard with ‘notebook-style’ touchpad, memory card and USB connectivity and a DVD drive.

If it was Blu-ray, that really would be something. But sadly it isn’t. Possibly a bit too ‘Mac Mini’ for many I would guess, but if you like your home computers small and portable, this will be available in September. Price to be confirmed.
