Samsung creates patents for two new gaming mobile phones - whoops!

Why anyone would want to release a gaming mobile phone after the dismal failure Nokia's N-Gage went through, is beyond me. Some clever cookie at Samsung has obviously been in a coma the past five years, woken up, and come to the conclusion that what the world really needs is a gaming phone. From Samsung. Clever, right?

They've filed two new US patents, with the first (above) described as a 'portable communication terminal for games'. Obviously that's some new slang that's down with the kids in the playgrounds across Britain as we speak. "Oi, Sheryl, where's my portable communication terminal? I need to ring Barry to see what the footy score is!"

In the first patent, there's a flip part which shows the keyboard when open, and when closed, the d-pad is evident. The all-important 'A' and 'B' buttons are located near the earpiece for accidental button pressing when you're talking. Great.

The second patent shows some designer's lack of creative thinking - he'd obviously confiscated his teenage daughter's Sidekick the previous night due to her texting older boys, and not slept much that night, for her howling and hammering at his bedroom door.

This one's a 'portable communication terminal with foldable keypad', where the display protrudes out of the phone, thus displaying the keypad. I'm fairly certain that Samsung have released this phone already, in the shape of the SCH-B550, so maybe that particular designer was being EXTRA lazy and just copied a previous model. No annual bonus this year, tsk.

CD still survives after 25 years (because it filled the gaps of needs). But what about Nokia NGAGE and other similar ones? All disappeared from the market dramatically leaving all users with an expensive paper weight in hand.
Surviving against the PSP nowadays is an empty struggle. I give 0% chance to any other competitor. PSP is really too excellent at its price. Excellent games, excellent music player, excellent movie player, excellent photo player, very good WEB navigator and even gets upgraded with camera, TV tuner, keyboard, GPS and God knows what will come next (GSM module is on the way). It has huuuuuge screen. It is giant when compared to any PDA or smartphone screen. I don't want even touch to a PDA or smartphone after having PSP. Only problem is the name. Playstation Portable. It has to be changed into Portable Media Station (PMS). It is no longer belonging to a teenage community for just games. A lot of friends of mine are getting that due to those abilities (we are all above 35 years old and married by the way; we are all sick of unabled PDA's and smartphones after so many years of money thrashing through them). We have to accept it that Sony did it in the right way with a nice shape.
