For anyone striving for extra realism in their racing games, the Playseat Evolution could be the piece of kit needed.

The patented gaming chair has been launched in the UK market, and claims to be so good that it’s a sponsor of the Dutch A1 racing team, and has been thoroughly tested by all of their drivers.

It features a highly adjustable, rigid seating arrangement and high quality materials, so that it can withstand “even the most vigorous of gamers”.

According to Henning Solberg of the Ford Rally team, “It’s the best car game accessory ever made, even I can use it for training and it really gives you a feeling of actually being in the car.” Presumably he wasn’t playing Super Mario Kart at the time, though.

Key features include the folding racing seat, fully adjustable oval piping steel construction, and compatibility with major consoles including the PS2 and PS3, Wii, XBox, XBox 360, and PC.

It’s also compatible with other gaming accessories including the Logitech G25 racing wheel, pedals and gear shift lever set.

It’s available for £239, available from The Gaming Collection.
