Two new pocket cameras from Casio, the EX-V8 and EX-Z1080, both featuring the company’s YouTube Capture Mode.

Available in silver and black, the EX-V8 is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, but still offers 8.1 effective megapixels, 7x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD display and four blur reduction technologies, including a CCD-shift image stabilisation mechanism. The 10.1 megapixel EX-Z1080, which is available in grey, black, blue, pink and gold, also offers high sensitivity photography up to a maximum of ISO 6400, 3x optical zoom, a 2.6-inch widescreen LCD display and a ‘Super Life Battery’ that allows up to 370 shots to be taken when fully charged.

Both use the Exilim Engine 2.0 image processing module, which allows high quality movies to be recorded at the high compression rate of the next-generation H.264 standard. Coupled with the YouTube Capture Mode, you can easily shoot and save movies at the optimum size and quality for YouTube. And there’s a software application for easy uploading too.

No news of a price or shelf date, we’ll keep you posted.
