trusted_places.gifThe UK-based social networking site TrustedPlaces, which relaunched in February, has now announced new features, and collaboration with Facebook.

Thanks to Facebook opening itself up to application developers, its members can now access TrustedPlaces and seamlessly ‘roam’ its content, and share relationships across the two communities.

New features at the TrustedPlaces include the ability for members to upload video reviews of their favourite places. They are also encouraging members who have met online to meet in the real world.

They have also launched the TrustedWidget which allows reviews to be syndicated across other web sites. This allows anyone to publish the latest information about an area or city on their own blog or other website.

TrustedPlaces say that they are now approaching 5,000 user reviews of venues, spread across 301 cities in 35 countries. More Facebook interaction is due out shortly, and Sokratis Papafloratos, TrustedPlaces CEO, says that this breaking down of barriers between different social networking sites will build user loyalty, so long as they continue to develop a quality product.

The explosive popularity of Facebook applications amongst a lot of its users should see this kind of collaboration becoming more popular.
