You'd think after compiling a whopping 101 Greatest Facebook Applications list last week, I wouldn't be returning to the subject for, ooh, a few months. But you'd be wrong.
See, there are now thousands of developers working on Facebook apps. Some of them even know what they're doing. So this week has seen another crop of cool, useful or plain silly applications emerge on Facebook. Stand by for a rundown.
1. Fantasy Football. Spend a virtual £130m on players to build a fantasy dream team, then watch it sink down the rankings once the Premiership season gets underway. GET IT
2. PlayMyGame. Create your own in-profile game starring... yourself! Well, a photo of yourself, anyway. The boxing one where friends get to punch your lights out looks particularly fun. GET IT
3. Music Videos. A stack of music vids for your profile from the likes of Ciara, Justin Timberlake, Shakira and Carrie Underwood. Whoever she is. GET IT
4. South Park Character Creator. Create your own foul-mouthed toon, and thumb your nose at all the people flocking to make Simpsons characters. You're old-skool, m'kay? GET IT
5. Vibrating Hamster. Just because. GET IT
6. Disco Fever. This week's Aquarium, in that you have a disco scene on your profile, which friends can send animated characters to for some rug-cutting action (and vice versa). GET IT
7. Snake. Y'know, the game that's run down a million mobile phone batteries in its time. Now it's on Facebook, with no danger of being interrupted by a call. GET IT
8. Shakespearian Insult Generator. If you're going to call someone a rude name, at least make the effort to get Elizabethan on their ass. GET IT
9. Ultimate Pimp. Work your way up the superfly rankings, pimping ho's and collecting bling. Not strictly the most politically correct Facebook app out there, you understand. GET IT
10. Pets. I'm loath to encourage the virtual pet mania further, but this app looks pretty cool, letting you buy gear to customise your furry friend, and fight them to level them up and get better stuff. GET IT
