Want a good home cinema system, but don’t want the bulk? You might want to check out the glossy black Sony Bravia Theatre DAV-X10 with its invisible ‘light to the touch’ controls and sound all around you from just two small speakers and a compact hideaway subwoofer.

Touch the system and the control buttons light up. And when you’ve finished, they fade down again. Nice – but it’s not all about novelty, there’s also Bravia Theatre Sync for easy use with your other Bravia kit, HDMI connectivity, Sony Digital Media Port (DMPORT) for adding external devices, Bluetooth connectivity and Portable Audio Enhancer to boost the sound of your digital files.

Oh yes, home cinema too, including Digital Cinema Auto Calibration, which means you just wire up and it’ll sort out your sound levels automatically via the supplied microphone in just three minutes. And there’s those speakers – small, but apparently able to fill a room with sound.

The Sony DAV-X10 is available from September. No news of price as yet.
