Sony unveils TV tuner for Japanese PSP owners

I got quite excited when I saw that Sony plans to release a TV tuner peripheral for PSP, until I read that it'll only receive 1seg digital channels, which are only broadcast in, er, Japan. Bah. Can't they make a Freeview version for the UK?

It'll cost around £28 anyway, will be on sale later this year, and will plug into the PSP's USB port. PSPSPS suggests that it might not be the boon PSP owners are expecting, seeing as there've been complaints about the quality of 1seg transmissions.

Tell you what I'd like to see Sony do: sign a deal with Joost, Babelgum or one of the other Telly 2.0 services to create a PSP client for streaming their online channels. Now that'd be smart...
