BT Vision offers Premier League games for £4 per month

BT is hoping to sell its BT Vision package via football, offering access to a month of Premier League games for just £4.

There is a catch – this is delayed coverage, but the footage will be available soon after matches end and at your convenience, delivered over the net to your TV. Alternatively, if you want live games too, you can combine the service with a package of live English and Scottish matches from Setanta Sports for £12 a month. BT’s ‘near live’ service includes 242 Premier League matches per season and up to 125 Coca Cola League and Carling Cup games.

There’s also a pay-as-you-go option for live games, £1.99 to watch one of the delayed matches. BT hopes the viewing public will be impressed by the price and the fact that you don’t need to sign a long-term contract to view. But with so many less-than-legal ways of watching live football on your PC for free, charging for delayed coverage might not have the appeal it hopes. Only time will tell.
