With an eye on the growing number of us looking to store our favourite tunes in digital form in a central location, Arcam has launched the FMJ MS250 MusicFile Server (we got a sneak peek last week), which promises to mix functionality with the kind of sound quality audiophiles demand.

The MS250 is essentially an audiophile quality stereo CD player with 400GB hard drive, capable of holding up to 80,000 tracks. But it also features an Arcam custom designed sound card, USB extendibility and backup, full network support for streaming to and from PCs / Macs, Internet radio, FreeDB auto track titling, highest quality archiving for music from CD, Records and tapes, CD burning, a large 6 line front panel display and support for up to four audio zones.

If you want to digitise your collection without losing the sound quality, it’s one to look at. Available now for £3,000.
