Ambient's weather-forecasting umbrella : Tech Digest

If you happen to be in the UK, you'll be no stranger to rain. In fact, you'll probably be slightly damp in your seat now. A good time for Ambient to launch the weather-forecasting umbrella.

Actually, it doesn't do all that much forecasting, it just warns you of the rain. If the darks skies don't warn you enough, the coloured LED ring on the handle will, updated constantly and wirelessly from Ambient's Information Network. All you need to do then is put up your umbrella and engage your smug face.

Available now in the US, it retails for $125 (around £70).
