Why? Because if the shame of possessing a Dolly Parton sized pair of man-boobs isn’t enough to shame you into losing weight, the humiliation of being told to eat an apple a day by a girly Japanese cartoon cat might get the message across, of course.
And that’s basically it: this is a set of scales emblazoned with the all-powerful brand icon that is Hello Kitty, presumably made in Japan by Tanita. I can’t see any Western male in their right mind buying a set, but then desperate times require desperate measures…
