I don’t even pretend to understand the science of the Thanko Bone Conduction Headphones, but if you need to hear whilst listening to music, it might be your thing.

“Bone Conduction” effectively bypasses the eardrum – yes, not what you would expect from headphones. But it means less stress on your eardrums (which apparently get “tired” after a long session of music) and leaves your ears open to outside sound, such as background traffic noise or someone having a conversation with you.

They feature a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone plug, weigh in at 73.5g and are available now from Geekstuff4u for $92.75 (around £47).
