Picasa goes mobile: Google's photo service now works on phones

picasa.jpgMobile users have been able to upload their snaps to Flickr for a while now, through various means – the ShoZu app, a dedicated Flickr app on some Nokia handsets, and now via Yahoo’s Go for Mobile 2.0 service.

However, now Google has joined the fray, launching a mobile version of its Picasa photo-sharing service. Judging by the description on the Official Google Blog, it’s less about uploading snaps, more about viewing your online Picasa album from your handset, as well as view and comment on snaps from your contacts.

Unfortunately, the link through to the Picasa Mobile site is currently broken, so I can’t confirm whether uploading is included. Bad Google…
