Hummer HT1 – pollutant car becomes mobile phone

Why does anyone really need a Hummer? Ugly, bad for the environment and a nightmare to drive in towns and cities. Despite all this, they’re a status symbol, something GM Motors hopes will be applicable to the spin-off phone, the Hummer HT1.

It’s been designed by French firm ModeLabs to fit in with the Hummer’s “military” style and comes in colours to match too, including a camouflaged khaki green, sable (dark silver), and bright yellow.

The slider handset has got a reasonable specification too, with two megapixel camera, FM radio and a microSD slot. Despite being a US car, Europe gets this phone first – and if you want one, it should be available soon for around 300 Euros.
