bebo-music.jpgThe crossover between music and social networking isn’t a new idea, as anyone who’s spent a happy few hours listening to deathcore grindie bands on MySpace will know. Or is that just me?

Anyway, Apple is about to take the crossover to the next level by signing a deal to sell iTunes downloads through the Bebo social network. It’s initially happening in the UK and Ireland, and will involve songs being sold on bands and singers’ profile pages – but only if their music is already available on the iTunes Store.

Bebo users will also get a free iTunes download every week, chosen by Apple to showcase new artists – I’m assuming this won’t be the same as the free Single of the Week promotion on the iTunes Store itself. Now, how long until Apple launches an iTunes Facebook application, hmm?
