If Alcatel’s GlamPhone was a little too glam and not enough substance, you might be more impressed with the company’s latest handset – the OT-C701 clamshell.

Available in black, orange and blue varieties, it’s very much the music phone, with dedicated control keys, wide format compatibility and an outer screen that means eliminates the need to flip to access your tunes. And it claims to offers 10 hours of music playback before it needs a charge.

Other features include an inner 65k TFT colour screen, camera (type not specified), video recording and playback, Bluetooth, microSD slot (with a 256MB card included), USB 2.0 and up to seven hours of talk time. No news on price or shelf date – we’ll keep you posted.
