Small, lightweight and with a price tag not far past the £100 mark – that’s the new Acer v200 series sat nav system.

It’s a compact device, weighing in at just 172g, but still packing in a 3.5-inch touch screen and integrated speakers, plus all the functions you would expect from entry-level GPS, including pre-installed maps for the UK or Europe, destination or post code entry, 2D and 3D maps and a super-sensitive 20 channel satellite receiver that accurately pinpoints your position to within three metres.

It also has Powerful Trip Planning (PTP) feature that intelligently organises your route by detecting the best places to stop (including points of interest). There’s also a v210 model, which has all of the above, plus Traffic Message Channel functions (TMC).

The v200 series will be available in the coming weeks from around £110.
