Sony Ericsson has a new smart phone on the market – the Sony Ericsson P1, which claims to offer improvements in design, speed and battery performance on previous P-range models.

It features a dual function keyboard – full QWERTY combined with one hand phone usability, a choice of text input, including handwriting and word completion, push email, including support for Exchange ActiveSync and BlackBerry Connect, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VoIP, a 3.2 megapixel camera with business card scanner and a 2.6-inch touchscreen with transflective display.

You can also read and edit MIcrosoft documents, browse the web with the Opera browser and listen to music via media files or the FM radio, watch video or stream mobile TV (if your service provider offers it).

Available in silver or black and shipping with a 512MB Memory Stick Micro, it should be available from the third quarter of 2007. Pricing to be confirmed, but probably dependent on your contract.
