Sony's Xacti camcorder has gone waterproof with the introduction of the VPC-E1, which captures digital video and 6 megapixel photos in wet and dry conditions.
It's the same old super 8-style design for a device capable of recording full 640x480 resolution video at 30fps and 6 megapixel stills, with storage on either SD or SDHC card (if you need that bit extra). And of course, it's waterproof - not just the occasional splash, the VPC-E1 can go five feet underwater for a total of 30 minutes to record movies.
Other features include a 2.5-inch rotating LCD, video compression, image stabiliser, 5x optical zoom, 12x digital and quick start-up.
It's US only so far, set for a June launch at $499.99. No news of a UK launch as yet.
