Until Apple adds some Bluetooth connectivity to the iPod, you'll have to sort out going wire-free yourself. And one way is the Etymotic ety8 earphones.
The fact that you can go wireless is a selling point in itself, with the earphones coming with an iPod 8•Mate Bluetooth adaptor which turns your iPod into a Bluetooth-enabled device. But there's also the sound isolation, keeping the music in and the background noise out.
Add to that replacement ear tips for a comfortable fit (and to block external sound), volume control via the earphones, USB charging, a leather case and up to 10 hours of use between charges and the sound quality you would expect from Etymotic - and you get a impressive package.
But it does come at a price - the Etymotic ety8 retails for a hefty £199.99. They're available now.
