I can't say I know a lot about DXG, but this DXG-711 camera seems to cover all the basics and a bit more, without breaking the bank.
It's a seven megapixel camera with 2.5-inch high resolution screen, ISO 400 sensor, 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom and 32MB of memory. It even throws in a voice recorder, converting your recordings to MP3 format for transfer to a PC or media player later.
Other features include video recording at 30fps, 15 scene modes, SD slot for boosting your storage. It's available to the US market for $149.99 (around £75). No news of a UK launch.
