You can get a handset that features sat nav functionality, but how about sat nav that throws in a phone? That’s what you get with the DiXCOM CNS-432.

First and foremost, this is a sat nav device, with a SiRF-III GPS receiver, 4.3-inch touch screen and all the usual functionality. But it also doubles up as a fairly basic handset, one you can use for calling as well as SMS, MMS and Bluetooth hands-free calling.

Also featured on the Windows CE 5.0 device is an image and text viewer, memo pad and an audio/video player. In fact, you can even use the music player with the sat nav, with directions interrupting the music when necessary.

So far, this is Korea only, but it’s still an interesting concept – and one that could well catch on in the coming months.
