Very little has been heard of BT Vision since its big launch late last year, but that’s about to change with a big money TV advertising campaign to promote the digital TV service.

BT Vision uses the V-box, an HD-ready television set-top box which connects to BT Broadband with a guaranteed line speed of 2MB per second and offers on-demand content, Freeview channels and a personal video recorder that can save up to 80 hours of shows.

The box is free to BT Broadband customers, but there’s installation and connection fees of £90 to consider. But on the plus side, you don’t need to pay a regular fee if you opt for the pay-as-you-go model. Although there are deals to tempt you into subscribing.

And if you’re not a BT customer, the box will also be available on the high street in places like John Lewis and Comet.
