Sony will offer its PlayStation Eye USB camera for the PS3 this summer in Europe, possibly to coincide with the launch of its SingStar karaoke title.

According to Sony, it will be able to capture video at up to 120 frames per second along with stills directly to the PS3 hard drive. It also features slow motion and time lapse and is good for recording in low light conditions.

There’s also a built-in microphone which can reduce background noise for more accurate speech and voice recognition. It will be bundled with EyeCreate software, which allows you to edit photos and videos and apply “eye-catching effects” with your console.

No specific shelf date or price as yet, we’ll keep you posted.
