The look of Mike, the emotional robot is probably not quite what you'd expect when you imagine empathic broadcast. However, it uses colour-changing to indicate how it feels: red for red is for anger, green is for happiness, and orange is for sadness. Mike was produced by seniors in the Electrical Engineering course at FEI in São Paulo and displayed alongside the Hug T-shirt (which dispenses hugs) and Sumo for Robots at the Robótica - International Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Fair. "We are living the robotics revolution. It is all around, in the industry, in medicine and in everyday life. We want to awaken Brazilians to this new reality," said Eduardo Branco, director of the event. [GT]
