microsoft-shield.gifMicrosoft really fancies itself as the new security expert. Having juddered into the anti-virus software business with the full release of Live OneCare, they’re now planning to set up their own security portal.

The Microsoft Malware Protection Centre, currently in preview, will detail the most active families and variants of malware that can affect Microsoft products.

With headquarters in Redmond, plus research labs in Japan and Ireland, Microsoft is actually collaborating with other security vendors to gather and disseminate malware information.

The site is due to launch officially in early July.

How do you feel about Microsoft’s seemingly new found public interest in POC security?
