Medion launches UMPC – RIM 1000

Medion has entered the UMPC market, launching the UMPC RIM 1000 device.

The UMPC RIM 1000 measures 190 x 121 x 28.3mm and weighs 740g. It uses a VIA C7-M 770 ULV processor (which is said to have more battery life than an Intel processor) and features 30GB of storage, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 6.5-inch colour TFT touch screen.

It also has an SD/MMC slot, two USB ports and a QWERTY keyboard, with Windows Vista Home Premium software on-board.

Like all Medion products, this will be sold through selected stores and supermarkets, with a shelf date of May mentioned. It’s priced around £799.
