Forget the buttons or indeed the touch screen – you can now operate your GPS unit with your voice – or at least you can with the Magellan Maestro 4050 and 4040.

The Magellan Maestro 4050 and 4040 are two of three new units, also including the 4010, all featuring a 4.3-inch screen, Bluetooth for hands-free calling and the usual points of interest. The 4050’s voice functionality is through Magellan’s SayWhere text-to-speech function, with the unit also including real-time traffic information and Navteq European maps.

The Maestro 4040 also features SayWhere and European maps, but no traffic information. The Maestro 4010 has the Bluetooth functionality and European maps.

Available from May, UK prices will be £199.99 for the Maestro 4010, £239.99 for the Maestro 4040 and £299.99 for the Maestro 4050.
