Heralding Tech Bubble 2.0 is Jott, a service that transcribes your voice messages and emails them to whomever you like. Simply call it up, say, for example, “Remind Victor about the DJ Fish concert”, and your message wings over to India, where a patiently waiting real-live human transcribes it on the spot, and, within minutes, passes it on. It’s in beta right now, and they intend to have a free version perpetually (supported by advertising), plus a premium version via subscription. Apparently the solution all along to machine transcription was simply to replace the machines with people. [GT]
