Fatman adds new models to valve amp range

The quirky Fatman iTube valve amp sound system created a stir last year – although it would be interesting to know how many people followed up by buying one. Possibly more than you would imagine – because a number of new models have been announced, all with the valves for a premium sound at a premium price.

First, there is the iTube 182, similar in looks to the original, but with seven valves and an increase in power from 13w to 18w per channel. Bigger still is the iTube 252, with nine valves and 25w per channel. Both feature line-ins for connection to external kit and come with or without the iPod dock.

Want more? Well, the iTube 402 has seven large valves and 40w per channel. Or if you want something like the original, the iTube Carbon Edition offers an iPod dock and amplifier in a new colour scheme, remote control and a video connection for viewing your iPod video clips on a larger TV.

The 182 and 252 are available now, the Carbon will be available in May and the 402 in June. Prices range start from £499.
