Sony has two new satellite navigation units heading our way in time for the summer holidays – the NV-U72T and NV-U52.

Both include 3.5-inch touchscreens and a rather neat all-in-one cradle and suction cup that folds conveniently into the body, so you can take it out of the car and into your bag/pocket easily. The NV-U52 is pre-loaded with national maps stored in the 512MB internal memory. The NV-U72T steps things up a bit, with 2GB of storage, holding maps for the whole of Europe. Both can be expanded via Memory Stick if you want to add or update maps.

The NV-U72T also features Traffic Message Channel (TMC) information, though this will cost an extra subscription fee. As yet there’s no pricing or a specific shelf date beyond a summer launch.
