Philip's Road Atlas – for sat nav users!

So, wasn’t the satellite navigation system supposed to save a few trees and consign the humble road atlas to history? It seems not – in fact, there’s now an atlas specifically for sat nav users – the Philip’s Sat Nav Road Atlas.

According to Philip’s, the Sat Nav Road Atlas complements in-car and portable sat nav systems by providing an overview of an area, so you can familiarise yourself with the area where you’re heading before setting out, minimising the chance of you heading down a dead end or being taken on an extended route by a quirk in the software.

It also offers an introduction to sat nav, how they work and how to block unsatisfactory routes. And as it’s an atlas, you obviously get extensive maps and details of 100 towns and cities, plus speed camera locations and speed limits, motorway maps and a map of Greater London with named streets.

Available from April, priced at £9.99.
