If you don’t have any great issues with your monitor for everyday work, chances are you’ll not be interested in LG boosting the contrast ratio in its monitor range. But if your day-to-day work involves working with images and animation, you just might be.

LG will be launching its 3000:1 DFC display in the first three months of 2007 in Britain, according to the company itself. Which means the range should be instore in the coming weeks. The 3000:1 contrast ratio will be able to deliver crisper moving images and more tonal differentiation. It also promises “perfect black” and mimimal distortion.

The first set of monitors to have 3000:1 will be an updated 60 series as well as upcoming Vista widescreen monitors. No news on price, but you should expect to pay a premium.
