This crazy, high-speed world we live in – we haven’t even got time to sit down and catch up with our reading. Which is where iAudioize for the Mac comes in.

iAudioize lets you listen to your emails, Word and PDF documents in MP3 format on your iPod. Which means you don’t have to battle for elbow space to read A4 documents on the train into work, just slip on your iPod (as long as you have converted your documents first), then playback your printed word, as well as pausing, forwarding and skipping sections.

Even better, you don’t get robotic voices. Instead, manufacturer MagneticTime promises “natural” speech – although there’s no regional accents sadly. Other features include compact files (four times less than MP3), automatic downloading of emails to your iPod, storage of documents within iTunes and the option of scrolling text alongside playback.

Available online or in Apple stores, you can pick it up for around £20.
