The HUBO FX-1 Robot Chair functions as both a protective exoskeleton in difficult industrial environments, and a physical extension for those too aged or enfeebled to operate their own bodies. The upper section of the robot is a chair shape, with legs below, like Baba Yaga’s mythical hut, and the entire thing is controlled by a joystick. 2m tall and weighing 150kg, it can carry a person of up to 100kg without batting an eye that it hasn’t got.
