applelogo.pngMacworld reports that Google and Apple will work together on many more partnerships, according to the CEO of Google, and Apple board member, Eric Schmidt.

Possibly fuelled by the knowledge that the iPhone will contain a number of Google applications, Schmidt was responding to a question about the two companies developing a tablet device.

“We are doing more and more things together. We have similar goals, similar competitors,” he said.

Previously, some people have speculated whether Schmidt might end up becoming the next CEO of Apple when Steve Jobs bows out.

It’s certainly a powerful alliance.
