Bebo gives bands the option to sell music online

Bebo has done a deal with 7digital, offering any of the 450,000 bands listed on the site the use of a 7digital widget to sell their music from their site page using 7digital’s indiestore software.

Acts signed-up through Bebo Bands will be able to either sign up for a free Starter indiestore account, which will allow them to sell four tracks, or a Pro account, which enables them to sell 20 tracks. A specially created indiestore widget and the integration of the two services means that after signing up and uploading music, an artist just needs to click a button to add the widget to their Bebo profile.

The widget lists all the tracks that the artist has on their indiestore and lets visitors listen to the tracks on the bands profile page. If they are interested in purchasing a track, they can click ‘download’ and be taken to the bands store at 7digital. And it’s not just for new bands – acts including The Killers and Muse are currently selling via the system.
