Alongside the newly-launched cameras comes a new range of photo printers from Sony – the DPP-FP90 and DPP-FP70.

The top-of-the-range DPP-FP90 features an extra-large (3.6-inch) screen with adjustable tilt position, a resolution of 230,000 pixels and Clear Photo LCD technology. The DPP-FP70 has a 2.5-inch TFT LCD. Both models feature the Sony BIONZ processor, which can handle high-resolution print files of up to 48 Megapixels. Auto Fine Print 4 technology automatically corrects white balance as well as overall brightness, hue, contrast, gradation and sharpness just before printing.

Using the Auto Touch-up button, the FP90 and FP70 can automatically detect and correct a range of common problems, including red-eye removal and poorly-exposed shots. Face Detection technology offers natural-looking faces and there’s also a range of effects before printing. Printing is fast too – 45 seconds for a postcard-sized 4×6” print.

Expect to see both models instore in May 2007, pricing to be confirmed.
