Today’s bold claim comes from Panasonic, which claims that its SDR-S10 is the world’s smallest SD-based camcorder.

The SDR-S10 features a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD and a Panasonic 10x optical zoom lens. And there’s no moving mechanism in the recording section of the SDR-S10, which means a Quick Start function for recording just 1.7 seconds after the power is switched on.

Other features include shock and impact resistance, saving your camcorder from a drop of up to 1.2 metres and it’s water-resistant too. Available from May 2007, a price is still to be confirmed.
