Sony has unveiled the VAIO UX1, an ultra portable PC with just about everything you would expect from a larger Vaio – only smaller.

Small enough to fit into your hand and light enough to slip into your bag at 480g, the UX1 runs with 1GB of memory, the latest Intel Ultra-Low Voltage processor and the Windows Vista Business operating system. It also features a 4.5-inch X-black LCD widescreen display that slides open to reveal a keyboard. However, there’s stylus/touchscreen operation too if you want to keep things compact and you can use the device in landscape or portrait as desired.

Other features include integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two integrated cameras (one for video chat), fingerprint security and 32GB of flash memory for storage. Flash should mean faster loading and less problems with impact/vibration, not to mention increased battery life.

Bundled with a display/LAN adapter for connection to to a projector or monitor, a docking cradle, AC adapter, stylus, carrying stand and soft case, it should be available to order in the coming weeks. No news on a price as yet.
