Most of us have a fairly average sound system attached to our PCs – despite keeping so much of your record collections on the hard drive. If you’re looking into an upgrade, it might be worth taking a closer look at Sony’s newly-launched SRS-DZ10 2.1 channel PC speaker system.

The system consists of a subwoofer, two desktop satellite speakers and a compact desktop control unit with integrated headphone socket. The speakers feature Sony’s sigma-type speaker drivers, which promise a deep bass sound, and with a total output of 32W, there is plenty of power for its compact size.

Two inputs allow for connection of both a desktop computer or laptop and a second source such as a portable music player. The wired desktop control unit features a power switch, volume control and bass adjustment. And if looks are a consideration, it’s got those too, with the aluminium cabinets and a blue backlight to show the system off.

It should be in stores in the coming weeks, price to be confirmed.
