Roberts is extending its range beyond the traditional radio and into integrated sound systems with the arrival of the Sound 23.

It’s a step on from the Sound 22, adding CD playback and SD card compatibility to the tabletop DAB radio. The CD player also plays MP3/WMA from disc, SD card or via a storage device, which can be connected via USB or the auxiliary input socket. The DAB features all the usual features, plus PausePlus – allowing you to pause and rewind live radio.

Described as a “design statement” by Roberts (make your own mind up on that), it’s finished in piano black and comes with a full remote control. Available now and priced at £250.
