LightSnake USB intelligent microphone cable

SoundTech have announced their LightSnake USB Intelligent Microphone Cable is now available. It features an embedded analogue to digital converter and a signal booster, and any standard microphone with XLR connections can be hooked up to it.

Their patented “Live when Lit” technology causes both cable connectors to glow when sound is being transmitted.

It plugs directly into any USB 2.0 port on your PC or Mac, ready to use with any audio or podcasting software that takes your fancy. It also comes with free trials of a number of Sony products.

Specs wise, it has a resolution of 16 bit / 48/44.1kHz, Total Harmonic Distortion of -76.1 dB, Signal to Noise Ratio of 83.1 dB, dynamic range of 81.6 dB, input impedence of 1M Ohms, a frequency reponse (at 48kHz) of 20-19.2K Hz, and signal boost gain of +20 dB.
