Once, a gadget was all about what it can do. Now, in these fashion-conscious times, it’s also about looks. So Casio must be feeling particularly smug after picking up iF Product Design Awards for three of its products.

The iF product design award is one of the world’s leading industrial design honours, with entries judged on their looks, as well as quality, price and environmental considerations. The three Casio products earning honours were the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z1000, EXILIM Card EX-S770, and the Super Slim Projector XJ-S35.

We featured the EX-S770 late last year, described as a “man-friendly” digital camera. It was credit card sized and good for 7.2 megapixel still images as well as MPEG-4 movies. The EX-Z1000 is a compact and slim 10.1 megapixel model with a large screen and stainless steel body. The XJ-S35 Super Slim Projector has yet to make it to the UK, but is just 32mm at its thinnest point, so easy to slip into a bag for mobile presentations.
