wusb300n.jpgLinksys have announced that their WUSB300N USB wireless adapter based on the 802.11n draft specification is now available. Aimed at small businesses and home office workers, it joins their Wireless-N range of products.

Whilst many PCs and laptops now come with some form of wireless capability, this is an easy way to add wireless capability that’s up to twelve times faster and with four times the range of the current 802.11g standard to any computer simply by plugging in to a spare USB port.

Of course one thing to bear in mind is that this specification isn’t yet fully agreed, so you take a small risk that it could change sometime next year and any future 802.11n gear you buy could be incompatible. Having said that, I’m sure Linksys would be pleased to sell you a wireless router and other gear based upon their specification.

The unit is also backwards-compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b devices.

It’s available now for £59.99.
