I haven’t tried to buy anything from the Dixons web site recently, so this news story passed me by. Dixons have been offering a Sony PS3, 3 games, and extra controller every day since 1st December, to raise funds for the Foyer charity that supports homeless young people.

Based on ‘lowest unique bid wins’, entrants simply text their bid to a premium number (costs £1).

Trouble is, Dixons only secured 18 units from the US, and so today is the last day – lines close at midnight. Read on for details of how to enter…

Winners will be amongst the first to receive the PS3 when it eventually arrives in the UK in March 2007. Plus, it’s a good cause, so if you are looking for innovative ways of securing this next-gen games console this could be for you. You don’t have to pay the bid if you win, either, so bid away.

You’ve got until midnight. Here’s the basics of how to enter, more details on the Dixons web site:

By (SMS) Text message
Text: Dixons (space) Your bid in pence (space) and your name to 88010
e.g. Dixons 332 John Smith (for a bid of £3.32)

At least 20p from each text or call go to charity Foyer – giving young people a chance, which is our nominated charity this Christmas.
