everyclick.gifThe search engine EveryClick, which launched just over a year ago and gives 50% of its advertising profits to nominated charities, has now raised over £100,000 for a collective of some 170,000 charities, selectable by users (obviously some are going to get more money than others.)

The company claims to have attracted 33,000 users, with the number increasing by 40% every month. Now, that’s nothing like a Google or Yahoo figure, but is encouraging. It doesn’t cost users or the charities any money to use or benefit from the service.

Polly Gowers, managing director, said “We are all more aware of our social responsibilities these days. We hope to see our new way of searching becoming a mainstream way to search the web, as it has the potential to be an incredibly powerful fundraising tool for any charity”.
