applelogo.pngMore Apple rumours are circulating the Internet surrounding a possible overhaul of the existing Aqua interface found in the latest versions of Mac OS X.

The Apple Gazette received information from an Apple insider suggesting that in the forthcoming Leopard version of OS X, a new unified interface called Illuminous will be debuted.

They think that the current iTunes may provide some hints as to what it will look like.

Naturally there’s plenty of comments on the rumour, too. The current OS has been criticised by some for being uncharacteristically disparate. Some are expecting shiny blacks, web 2.0-ish reflective elements, and customisable colour palettes (something you’ve been able to do in Windows for years)

According to Apple Gazette “The gensis (sic) for this rumor started earlier this year when Apple posted a position on Monster.com seeking a senior visual interface designer “to conceive, design and develop future enhancements to Aqua, the dynamic user interface for Mac OS X”.”

What do you think?
